About Us
Engagement with the community is recognised as an important component of the University’s activities. One way this engagement is achieved is through the Community Education. This programme offers a wide range of short, non-credit courses that give the public access to the distinctive expertise and resources of the University.
Lifelong learning - Courses programme
Our aim in Community Education is to offer a variety of interesting and stimulating learning opportunities that enable people to participate in ‘lifelong learning’ through various forms of intellectual and/or creative engagement. Courses and lectures in a range of specialist areas are offered by academic staff and other tutors with appropriate qualifications.
Community Education courses offered by the University of Canterbury contribute to and encourage lifelong learning by aligning with the government’s priorities for ACE provision in universities.
